Chickweed Geometer Moth (Haematopis grataria) Art Print

$10.00
A smaller moth, they are so named for their tendency to feed on Chickweed and other low-growing plants.  They are active during the daytime, contrary to common assumptions about moths.

As long as I’ve known Peter, he has adored insects, giving them the loving attention that Mary Oliver says is akin to devotion. On our first date, we spent the fourth of July at Storm King Art Center. He spent as much time low to the ground, looking for interesting bugs and telling me about their interesting attributes as he did getting to know me. HIs curiosity and gentleness around nature certainly left an impression on me. Now that we’re married, I’m proud to be a collaborator in putting his meditations on his favorite living creatures into other bug lovers’ homes.
