This series of mixed media artworks came out of an intuitive color and figure drawing intensive led by Martin Campos in April 2024. Martin always tells his students that fracturing the form and disrupting the linear process of drawing makes for a more felt, inspired world within an artwork. I was often pushed to go beyond my toolbox full of tricks and to go as glacially as possible when approaching the figure. Most of the time, I felt like I made hundreds of failed attempts, grappling with the messy outcomes that were neither successful nor beautiful in the traditional sense. However, something interesting happened occasionally as a result, blurring my hard lines between form and emotion.
Artwork size: 9 x 12 in.
Each painting is:
- One of a kind and completely unique
- Individually signed by the artist
- Created with a variety of archival, lightfast materials including Case for Making pan watercolors, Golden SoFlat Matte Acrylics, Caran d'ache Neocolor II watersoluble wax pastels, and Platinum Carbon Black In
- Painted on archival, Canson®XL® Mixed Media paper, featuring heavyweight (98lb/160g), medium grain texture

- All items are shipped USPS first class in a clear, protective sleeve, sandwiched between cardboard in a rigid mailer.

In general, when artwork is displayed on walls it is best to avoid direct and constant sunlight. Do not permanently store original artworks in a humid or hot environment such as basements or attics. All works of art are unique and should be handled with care.
