Carpenter Bee (Xylocopa) Art Print
Carpenter Bees can be(e) distinguished from Bumblebees by way of their shiny, hairless abdomens. Carpenter Bees use their powerful jaws to chew out nests in soft wood, and can commonly be found in wooden swing sets and support structures for decks. While incapable of stinging, males will eagerly defend their nest by hovering outside of it, aggressively headbutting rival males and other perceived threats.
